The Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania reported a record level of distributions — $979,207 — from endowed funds that support Catholic causes throughout the Diocese of Allentown. Since 2016, the Catholic Foundation has reported a total of $5,987,684 in distributions from both endowment and donor designated funds.
“The distribution process is doing what it is set up to do: provide funds to various Catholic organizations when they need it,” Pete Waldron, President of the Catholic Foundation. “Our impact has grown during the past 10 years.”
Support Catholic Causes You Care About
The millions of dollars generated from the Catholic Foundation are not just numbers. They represent real and lasting impact to Catholic education. Distributions support scholarships to our Catholic elementary and high school students as well as to college-bound parishioners. In addition, some schools have created “teacher excellence funds” that provide annual stipends to their teachers in recognition of their dedication and teaching excellence.
Beyond education, the Foundation’s funds support Catholic Charities’ critical human services programs and assist in the formation and education of seminarians. Parishes benefit too, with distributions supporting our sacred spaces that are the heart of worship and community life.
Built through the responsibility of institutional donors and the generosity of individual donors, endowment funds managed by the Catholic Foundation create a perpetual source of support for these vital ministries and ensure that Catholic values — education, compassion, service, and faith will thrive for generations. “As funds continue to grow, the total amount of available distributions will increase as well,” Waldron said.
