St. Anne Parish Bethlehem George Karabin Educational Endowment Fund

For more than a century, St. Anne School has been a beacon of faith-based education, nurturing young minds and hearts in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

“Rooted in Catholic tradition, we strive to prepare students for a future of academic success, moral responsibility, and compassionate leadership,” said Rev. Anthony Mongiello, Pastor of St. Anne Parish.

“However, maintaining our mission requires more than dedication and hard work — it also demands financial sustainability.”

Thankfully, the George Karabin St. Anne Education Endowment Fund has been a cornerstone of support for the school.  The endowment fund was started 15 years ago by George Karabin, who was a dedicated parishioner of St. Anne for 65 years. George worked tirelessly to get others to contribute to the fund, so it had a solid foundation from the start. George passed away in February 2012. In November 2024, St. Anne Parish named the St. Anne Education Endowment Fund in his memory.

Since its inception, this vital fund has provided more than $550,000 in scholarships.

“This endowment fund has supported scholarships for families in need and preserves the rich tradition of academic excellence at St. Anne School,” Father Mongiello said.

Gifts in a Will, Estate, or Stock Secure Catholic Education for Generations

St. Anne Parish and School, under the leadership of George Karabin’s son Andrew, have embarked on a targeted effort with the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania to build up the fund.

A contribution to the George Karabin St. Anne Education Endowment Fund is more than a gift — it strengthens a legacy. It ensures that the values, education, and opportunities we provide today will endure for future generations.

“A gift to the educational endowment fund provides donors with an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Catholic educational needs of children and adults in our parish,” said Drew Karabin, Parish Education Endowment Committee member.

Karabin believes a person who grows stronger in their faith will go on to share those blessings with their family, in their workplace, and throughout the community.

“Together, we can ensure that Catholic education continues to shine brightly at St. Anne for years to come,” he said. For more information about making a gift, please contact Drew Karabin, St. Anne Parishioner, at [email protected] or 610-580-8247.
