Five New Priests Ordained; Seminary Endowment Funds Foster Formation

In a ceremony rich with tradition, five new priests were ordained at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in our diocese on June 1, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone not only in their lives but also for the entire Catholic community. These young men—Father Brelinsky, Father Eidle, Father Nguyen, Father Ramirez, and Father Scheidel—embark on their sacred journey, fortified by years of rigorous seminary education made possible by generous seminary endowment funds.

The path to priesthood is one of profound dedication and commitment, and it often requires substantial financial support. Endowment funds such as the Dr. Bonita Bachl Seminarian Education Endowment Fund, the Seminary Education Endowment Fund, and the Reverend Monsignor Robert F. Kozel Seminary Education Endowment Fund have been instrumental in providing this support.

A Call for Continued Seminary Endowment Fund Support

The Catholic Foundation plays a pivotal role in managing these seminary endowment funds and ensuring they are used effectively to support seminarians. By investing in the future leaders of the Church, the Foundation helps to nurture and sustain the spiritual and pastoral life of the Catholic community.

Donations to the Dr. Bonita Bachl Seminarian Education Endowment Fund, the Seminary Fund, and the Reverend Monsignor Robert F. Kozel Seminary Education Endowment Fund directly contribute to the education and formation of future priests. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps to create a lasting impact on the Church and its mission.

As we celebrate the ordination of these five new priests, let us also recognize the importance of sustaining the journey for future seminarians. By contributing to the endowment funds, you are investing in the future of the Church and ensuring that it remains vibrant and dynamic for generations to come.
